Games consoles in the classroom

In last week's session we used various games consoles and tried out different games in order to see how they could be used within the classroom. Most were very different in style but I could see ways in which they could all be used educationaly. In my opinion the most educational game was Little Big Planet.

How to improve the game
I would make the game more challenging and create more ways to lose the game. The concept of hitting the bombs and dying is fine, but after a while it all gets a bit too predictable.
Game objective
Get as many points as possible by clicking on the various assorted items of fruit that fly around the screen. You must avoid clicking on the bombs otherwise the game will end.
Sounds
The sounds are all very basic on the game, reminiscent of early 1990’s games.
Controls
The controls are all done by clicking the mouse. In my opinion the game would be easier to control if you could use the arrow keys.
Game flow
You start the game on zero points. A game can go on for any length of time until you click on the bombs.
Levels
It is possible to create as many levels as you wish.
I really enjoyed the gaming debate. I was there in spirit and I agree with the outcome.
